Topic of discussion “Brain Health”. Socialization and memory retrieval are very important in regard to lifelong brain health. In many cases, we can either help or hinder the process. Join Alzheimer’s Tennessee as we challenge your brains with a fun, interactive game show type competition. Meets every 4th Thursday of the month.

Lydia Hoskins & Andrea Haubner, Extension Agent, with UT/TSU Extension, Sullivan County. This 6-session program is designed to help individuals or those caring for individuals manage long-term health issues effectively. Class is limited to 12 participants, with a minimum of 4 to sign up.

Alison Lundy, RN, with UT College of Nursing. Alison will be conducting assessments to determine barriers to routine immunizations for the state-wide Community Registered Nurse Navigator Project through the University of TN. Participation is voluntary and after completing the survey members may select one of the variety door prize items. Alison will also answer any health / immunization related questions, no personal information will be obtained.

Tuesdays, 11:45 am – 12:45 pm (Gym – Dannie Lee) & Thursdays, 9:45 am (Atrium -Teresa Wells). An easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the beat at your own speed. The Zumba Gold Live It Up System is the total body wellness experience.

Monday, October 3 | Woodshop

Every 1st Monday of the Month. If you are interested in working in the Woodshop, you must complete the Safety Orientation.

NOTE: We will be cleaning the shop every 1st Monday after the safety orientation and ask that all woodworkers come and help. 

The Woodshop will be closed for Summer Break from Monday, July 4 to Monday, July 18. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The objectives of the Senior Olympics are to recognize people who have achieved and maintained good health throughout their lives, promote physical fitness and the pursuit of lifetime leisure activities, and provide opportunities for fun, recreation and fellowship. Medicare part B and TNCARE are going to cover the influenza vaccine this year at no charge to the patient. You must bring in your insurance card (Medicare, etc.) so that we may record the information and bill accordingly. Pinney’s will be providing Quadravalent flu vaccine, High dose senior flu vaccine, Shingles Vaccines Pneumonia vaccine, Moderna COVID vaccine, and Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.

This will be an 8-ball tournament singles play best of three games with double elimination. Cost is free. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, sponsored by Kim Howell with Visiting Angels. NOTE: We will play on all four tables in billiards room.

This tournament will be doubles, best three games with double elimination, using only one side of the score board. Cost is Free. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place only, Nathaniel Young with Brookdale Kingsport. We need at least 12 to sign up for tournament to be played.
