  • Sherry McLeod, Hospital/Marketing Liaison with Asbury Place Kingsport will be at the Center every 3rd Thursday of the month, in the Hallway by the Office.

Monday, August 2 at 9:00 AM. Woodshop. Every 1st Monday of the month.

If you are interested in working in the Woodshop you must complete the Safety Orientation. Stop by the Wood- shop or call 423-392-8400 or 423-392-8407 to sign-up. NOTE: We will be cleaning the shop every 1st Monday of the month after the safety orientation and ask that all wood workers please come and help.

Thursdays & Fridays, July 29 – August 20, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

This is a 4 week Basic Woodworking Class. Cost is $150.00, which covers all your materials; with $75.00 due on first day – paid to the instructors and the final payment is due on the last day. This class will cover all the Safety Requirements to work in the Woodshop and teach you how to use all the equipment. You will make a Butcher Block and a Foot Stool. Sign-up in the office or by calling (423) 392-8400. Class is limited to 8 people, deadline to sign-up is Mon, Jul 26.

Friday, August 6. 8:30 AM. $8.00 for transportation.

Moonshiner’s Run Trail, Roan Mountain, Tennessee. Be sure to wear your hiking boots, bring your walking stick, and dress accordingly to the weather. Bring plenty of water and something to eat. Sign-up in the office or contact Kevin Lytle at (423) 392-8407, starting July 8.

Wednesday, August 18th at 9:30 AM. Billiards Room.

This will be an 8-ball tournament singles play best of three games with double elimination. Cost is free. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place only, sponsored by Edie Cannon, Sales Manager with Brookdale Rock Springs. NOTE: We will play on all four tables in billiards room. Sign-ups start on Wed, Jul 21 in the Office, with a deadline to sign up by close of business on Mon, Aug 16.

Wednesday, September 8. 9:00 am. Shuffleboard Courts.

This tournament will be doubles playing the best of three games with double elimination. Cost is free. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place only. Edie Cannon, Sales Manager with Brookdale Rock Springs, will be sponsoring this event. We need at least 12 to sign-up for the tournament to take place. Sign-ups start Tuesday, August 8 in the office or by calling (423) 392-8400. Deadline to sign- up is September 7.

Pinney’s Prescription Shop will be here to provide vaccines. Medicare Part B and TNCARE are going to cover the influenza vaccine this year at no charge to the patient. You must bring your insurance card so that it may be recorded and billed accordingly. Sign-ups start Thursday, August 19 in the office or by calling (423) 392-8400. Walk-ins are also welcome.

September 13 – October 19. 

Senior Olympics is a special event for seniors 50 and older that combines a wide range of competitive activities. The objectives of the Senior Olympics are to recognize people who have achieved and maintained good health throughout their lives, promote physical fitness and the pursuit of lifetime leisure activities.
