Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available, if needed, for seated or standing support.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria.

 

Core Conditioning, 9:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. This is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, focused on core strength. Most sculpting classes use weight bars, exercise bands, dumbbells, or a combination of these gadgets. You perform traditional weight-training movements in a class setting.

POUNDFIT, Tuesdays, 11:00 am. POUND is a cardio jam-session designed to release the rockstar within us while promoting total-body fitness. Instead of listening to the music, you become the music in this full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movement. No sign-up required!

Zumba Gold, Tuesdays & Thursdays, starting September 16, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Room 302 at the Main Site. Dannie Lee will be leading an easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the beat at your own speed for a total body wellness experience! Sign-up by September 13. Freestyle Kaleidoscope, Monday, December 6, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Cost $45.00, instructed by Melissa Wiley. Come explore the creativity of mosaics. Participants will make a 5×5 kaleidoscope using stained glass, beads, and a mirror – all supplies are provided. Pieces will be grouted together after class and will be available for pick up one week after class. Sign-up by December 3rd, class is limited to 8 participants.

Plaid Christmas Trees, Monday, December 13, 11:00 am. This is a make and take class where you will make two plaid Christmas trees. Cost is $15, paid to instructor Kimberly Beck. All supplies are provided. Additional kits will be available for $5.00. Sign-up by December 8th.

Cooking for One or Two, Tuesday, December 14, 10:00 am. Participants will learn how to make a one pot recipe, with samples and additional recipes to help participants adjust to cooking for one or two people. The presenter is Linda Jones, with Ext. Program Assistant II, TNCEP, UT-TSU Extension Sullivan County. Sign-up by December 10th.

Basket Class, Wednesday, December 15, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Cost is $15, paid to instructor Candy Alexander. Participants will make a jar basket. Supplies needed: ruler, clothespins, scissors, and a pencil. Sign-up by December 13, class is limited to 8 participants.

Pickleball Drills, Friday, December 17, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Join Andy Wilson and Anna Walters as they put the “fun” in pickleball fundamentals. A 1-hour class consisting of a combination of drills followed by games using that skill. Join us to have a blast as you improve your skills! Limited to 6 participants. Sign-up by December 15.

Card Making Class, Monday, December 20, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will be doing something a little different! We will be decorating a case to include a planner/journal and making 2 cards to fit inside as well. Cost is $15, paid to instructor, and all supplies are included.  Please bring scissors and your favorite adhesives.  Class is limited to 12. Sign-up by December 15.

Beginner Crochet, Fridays, January 7 – February 11, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Participants will use basic stitches and learn how to make a scarf. Bring a size 5 mm (US size H-8) Susan Bates hook. Cost is $20 paid to instructor. Sign-up by January 4, class is limited to 4 participants.

Intermediate Crochet, Fridays, January 7 – February 11, 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Cost is $20 paid to instructor. Participants will make a sampler afghan that uses squares of different designs. Required supplies: size H hook and four 7-ounce skeins of #4 worsted weight yard (bring a main color (3) and (1) contrasting color). Sign-up by January 4, class is limited to 4 participants.

Corn Hole boards are available in the senior center office at Lynn View to play Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 2:00pm. Corn hole is an American lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. No sign up required, just come in and ask for the boards.

Pickleball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball but slightly smaller. The lower net and whiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. This is Open Pickleball for all skill levels.

is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Silver Sneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Room 239 at 9:30 am. Total Body Workout consists of upper and lower body exercises that trim, tone, and define muscle while giving you a good cardio workout.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am – 11:30 am. Mat yoga – includes breath, abdominal, and arm strength building.

Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Includes standing poses and gentle movements for strength and flexibility. Each class ends with relaxation.
