Classes
Beginner Oil Painting, Tuesdays, March 28 – June 13, 10:30 am. Cost included with membership. This beginners oil class will teach students all the steps needed to complete fun and easy oil painting projects. As the class is ongoing it will allow students to work at their own pace and bring in their own project ideas as the class progresses. Instructor Sonia Garcia.
Beginner Pickleball, Tuesdays & Thursdays, May 9 – 25, 9:30 – 10:30 am. Cost is $30 at sign-up. Limited to 8 participants. 3 weeks, 6 classes. This is for those who have never played pickleball.
Card Making Class, Monday, May 22, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will be making a set of 4 monogrammed notecards! Cost is $10 for 4 cards and all supplies are included. Bring adhesives and scissors. Sign up in the office.
Decoupage, Tuesday, May 23, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Esther Richards. will show participants how to decoupage cans. Cost is $15, all supplies provided.
Paper Flower Class, Tuesday, May 25, 10:00 am. All supplies for the project are provided. Most of the project involves sliding pieces on a dowel rod. Cost is $15 day of class, instructor Shawnda Pickard.
Advanced Crochet, Fridays, June 2 – July 14 (No class on June 23), 9:30 – 10:30 am. Cost: $20 paid to instructor. Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will work on project of choice.
Beginner Crochet, Fridays, June 2 – July 14 (No class on June 23), 11:00 – 12:00 pm. Participants will use basic stitches and learn how to make a scarf. Bring a size 5mm (US size H-8) Susan Bates hook. Cost: $20.00 paid to instructor. Limited to 4.
Intermediate Crochet, Fridays, June 2 – July 14 (No class on June 23), 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Cost is $20.00 paid to instructor. Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will make a sampler afghan that uses squares of different designs. Required supplies, a size H hook and four 7 ounce skeins of #4 worsted weight yarn (bring a main color (3) and (1) contrasting color). Limited to 4.
Embroidery, Mondays & Wednesdays, June 5 – 21, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Cost is $15, payable first day of class to instructor Sandra Arnold.

Advanced Hand Quilting Group gathers each day in the cafeteria and quilts together.
Painting with Flair, Tuesday, June 6, 10:00 am. Cost is $30, fee covers canvas, brushes, paints, etc. Bring a lunch, snack, drink and a container for water.
Dot Painting, Wednesday, June 7, 10:00 am. Enjoy a relaxing and easy way to create art just by using dots! Paint on a variety of materials like shells, rocks and canvas to create a vibrant artwork or home decor item. This Program provided in partnership with the West End Home Foundation Digital Literacy Grant. Limited to 10 participants.
Palette Painting, Monday, June 12, 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. Cost: $30, paid first day of class. Instructor: Robin Wilbanks Hilman. Participants will make a patriotic sign with a sunflower and a mason jar.
Creative Bookmaking, Tuesday, June 13, 10:00 am. Create a handmade book in this introductory book arts class. Learn how to use book making tools and bind pages to create a truly unique art book. Participants are encouraged to use personal pictures, stationary and other decor to customize their work. This Program provided in partnership with the West End Home Foundation Digital Literacy Grant. Limited to 10 participants.
Fun Wire Wrap Rings, Wednesday, June 14, 11:00 am. Cost: $10. Bring some pretty round beads, not too big, and 20 or 18 gauge wire (dead soft), if you have it. A fun and easy project. You will make 3 rings.
Summer Shadowbox, Monday, June 19 from 11:00 am. Cost $15. This project will fit in the Spring Shadowbox frame if you attended that class. Please bring paper crafting tools and die cut machine if you have one. A sample is in the office. Max of 12 participants.
Easy Electrical Repairs, Tuesday, June 20, 10:00 am. Join volunteer Doug Clark as he shares easy repairs you can do before calling a service technician.
Basket Making Class, Wednesday, June 21, 10:00 – 1:00 pm. Class limit of 10. Participants will make a mail basket, 8”x4”x7”. This basket has an open weave bottom and plain weave sides topped with a rim that has a bushel basket handle inserted. Color options for “chain” rows available. Supplies needed: a ruler, clothes pins, kitchen scissors or garden snips and a pencil. This program provided in partnership with the West End Home Foundation Digital Literacy Grant. Limited to 10 participants.
Bow Making, Thursday, June 22, 12:30 pm. Bring ribbon of choice, 2 colors/sets. Ribbon needs to be stiff or have wire in it. This Program provided in partnership with the West End Home Foundation Digital Literacy Grant. Limited to 10 participants.
Card Making Class, Monday, June 26 from 11:00 am. to 1:00 pm. Everything’s Coming Up…Daisies! We will make 4 cards with a daisy vibe and even learn a new technique. Cost $10. All supplies are included. Please bring scissors and favorite adhesives.
Decoupage, Tuesday, June 27, 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm. artisan Esther Richards will show participants how to decoupage mason jars. Example in office. Cost: $15. All supplies provided.
Landscape Painting, Thursday, June 29, 10:00 am. Join this step-by-step class to create a beautiful country landscape painting. Learn about acrylic paint and basic painting tools and materials, as well as color mixing and layering techniques. Beginner friendly. This Program provided in partnership with the West End Home Foundation Digital Literacy Grant. Limited to 10 participants.
Exercise Classes
Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available, if needed, for seated or standing support.
Silver Sneakers Classic, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria.
Core Conditioning, 9:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. This is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, focused on core strength. Most sculpting classes use weight bars, exercise bands, dumbbells, or a combination of these gadgets. You perform traditional weight-training movements in a class setting.
Low Impact Aerobics, Fridays, Cafeteria, 9:00 am – 10:00 am.
Stretch & Flex!, Fridays, 10:00 – 11:00 am. Cafeteria. Enjoy stretching, increasing your flexibility & balance, & mastering the use of breath for greater fitness & relaxation. Includes some gentle yoga with exercises done while standing or seated in a chair – no floor work required! Optional floor exercises may be offered towards the end of class but these can also be chair-based – your choice! Bring a yoga mat if you have one to use alongside the chairs provided.
Blood Pressure Checks
will be held on Mondays from 8:45 am – 10:00 am with volunteer, Nancy Greene. No sign-up required, walk-ins welcome!
Corn Hole
Corn Hole boards are available in the senior center office at Lynn View to play Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 2:00pm. Corn hole is an American lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. No sign up required, just come in and ask for the boards.
Pickleball

Pickleball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball but slightly smaller. The lower net and whiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. This is Open Pickleball for all skill levels.

Silver Sneakers Yoga
is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Silver Sneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Total Body Workout
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Room 239 at 9:30 am. Total Body Workout consists of upper and lower body exercises that trim, tone, and define muscle while giving you a good cardio workout.
Core Yoga
Tuesdays: 11:00 am – 11:30 am.
Thursdays: 9:30 am – 11:30 am. (due to kids camp through July 21)
Mat yoga – includes breath, abdominal, and arm strength building.
Yoga

Lap swimming is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 am for free with your Senior Center membership card and you will receive a 20% discount on swim classes offered by the Aquatics Center.
