Butterbean Auction, Wednesday, October 26, 12:30 pm. Butterbeans and prizes will be sponsored by Visiting Angels. A butterbean auction is similar to bingo, just more fun because you bid with butterbeans on items provided by the sponsor.

Advanced Crochet, Fridays, October 7 – November 11, 9:30 – 10:30 am. Cost is $20, paid to instructor. Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will work on project of choice.

Beginning Crochet, Fridays, October 7 – November 11, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Cost is $20, paid to instructor. Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will use basic stitches and learn how to make a scarf. Bring a size 5 mm (US size H-8) Susan Bates hook.

Intermediate Crochet, Fridays, October 7 – November 11, 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Cost is $20, paid to instructor. Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will make a sampler afghan that uses squares of different designs. Required supplies: a size H hook and four 7-ounce skeins of #4 worsted weight yarn (bring a main color (3) and (1) contrasting color).

Pickleball Drills, Friday, October 14 & 28, 10:30 am. Love to play pickleball? Is there a part of your game that is driving you crazy? Join the “A-Team”, Andy Wilson and Anna Walters, as we put the “fun” in pickleball fundamentals. Each 1-hour class will be a combination of drills followed by games using that skill. Join us to have a blast as you improve your pickleball groove! Cost is included with membership.

Beginner Stained Glass, Mondays, October 17 – 31, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Join us as Lynn Davenport shares how to make a simple. Please bring the glass you want to make a project with.

Stained Glass II, Monday, October 17 – 31, 9:00 – 11:00 am. Must have taken the Beginner Stained Glass class or have stained glass experience. Project is a hummingbird. Supplies needed: solid 12 or 14g bare copper wire—2 foot (1 foot 16g wire depending on which project), copper wire crimp to fit wire size, glass for bird and flower, imagination :), finished piece is size 8×10. Cost: $5.

Cooking For One or Two, Tuesday, October 18, 10:00 – 11:00 am. Participants will learn how to make a one-pot recipe, with samples and additional recipes to help participants adjust to cooking for one or two. Presented by Linda Jones, program assistant II, TNCEP, UT-TSU Extension Sullivan County.

Basket Class, Wednesday, October 19, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Cost is $15, paid to instructor Candy Alexander. Class limit of 10. Participants will make a candy corn wall decoration. Supplies needed: a ruler, clothes pins, kitchen scissors or garden snips and a pencil.

Fabric Flower Brooch, Friday, October 21, 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Requires cutting fabric and hand sewing. Participants need to bring buttons for center of flower – should bring a variety, 1/2″-1″size. Participants can bring their own cotton or cotton blend fabric -1/4 yard should be enough. Instructor will supply a small selection of fabrics (Fall or Christmas theme) and backings (one for stitching and one for finishing) and pinbacks for the brooch. Cost: $10, payable to instructor. Minimum of 5 people. These are fun to
wear, and make a nice gift for friends or family.

Barn Quilt, Thursday, October 27, 10:30 am. All supplies furnished. 10 participants required for class to go. These are weatherproof boards and are 2×2 ft. Choose from seven patterns. Cost: $75. Payable at sign up.

Card Making Class, Monday, October 31, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will make 4 seasonal greeting cards. Cost is $10 and all supplies are included. Please bring scissors and your favorite adhesives. Maximum of 12 participants.

Holiday Cookie Decorating, Wednesday, November 9, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Participants will decorate 4 cookies and get tips from Cookie Monster – check her out on Facebook! Cost is $25.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available, if needed, for seated or standing support.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria.

Core Conditioning, 9:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. This is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, focused on core strength. Most sculpting classes use weight bars, exercise bands, dumbbells, or a combination of these gadgets. You perform traditional weight-training movements in a class setting.

Low Impact Aerobics, Fridays, Cafeteria, 9:00 am – 10:00 am.

Stretch & Flex!, Fridays, 10:00 – 11:00 am. Cafeteria. Enjoy stretching, increasing your flexibility & balance, & mastering the use of breath for greater fitness & relaxation. Includes some gentle yoga with exercises done while standing or seated in a chair – no floor work required! Optional floor exercises may be offered towards the end of class but these can also be chair-based – your choice! Bring a yoga mat if you have one to use alongside the chairs provided.

Corn Hole boards are available in the senior center office at Lynn View to play Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 2:00pm. Corn hole is an American lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. No sign up required, just come in and ask for the boards.

Pickleball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball but slightly smaller. The lower net and whiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. This is Open Pickleball for all skill levels.

is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Silver Sneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Room 239 at 9:30 am. Total Body Workout consists of upper and lower body exercises that trim, tone, and define muscle while giving you a good cardio workout.

Tuesdays: 11:00 am – 11:30 am.

Thursdays: 9:30 am – 11:30 am. (due to kids camp through July 21)

Mat yoga – includes breath, abdominal, and arm strength building.

Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Includes standing poses and gentle movements for strength and flexibility. Each class ends with relaxation.
