Butterbean Auction, Wednesday, July 24, 12:30 pm. Butter beans and prizes are sponsored by Visiting Angels. A butter bean auction is similar to bingo, just more fun because you bid with the butterbeans on items provided by the sponsor.

Beginning Hand Quilting, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 2 – 30, 10:00 – 11:00 am. All supplies are included. Cost: $15, paid to instructor Sandra Arnold.

Advanced Hand Quilting, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 2 – 30, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. More advanced quilters gather each day and quilt together on projects.

Painting with Robin, Monday, July 8, 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. Cost: $30, paid to instructor day of class. Participants will paint a palette of flowers with your initial. Instructor: Robin Wilbanks Hillman.

Pickleball Drills, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 9 – 25, 10:00 am. Cost: $30, pay at sign up. Limited to 8 participants. First class, “Seeing spots?” works in placement of shots especially the serve return and 3rd shot. Second class, “Beating the Banger”, focus is on volleys, resets and letting the ball go out. Third class, “Doubles Strategy”, the emphasis is on working effectively with a partner and court positioning. Instructor Anna Walters.

Beginner Knitting, Monday, July 15 – August 19, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. We are going to make a knitted dish towel, where class will be introduced to basic knitting stitches, stitch abbreviations, learn how to read knitting diagrams. Supplies provided. Cost: $20 paid to instructor Olga Seibel.

Intermediate Knitting, Monday, July 15 – August 19, 12:00 – 1:00 pm. We are going to be making a scarf with a simple lace pattern. Needed supplies: 5 skeins 3.5 oz (100grams) about 250 yards of yarn (could be cotton, acrylic, bamboo or any fiber mix), needles #6 or #7 US size. Cost: $20 paid to instructor Olga Seibel.

Try Your Hand at Quilting, Tuesday, July 16, 1:00 pm. Quilling is an ancient form of paper craft. Come learn how to do basic quilling forms and how to create a card to send to friends or family. All supplies will be provided, but if you happen to have a quilling tool, please bring it. Cost is $5.00 paid to instructor.

Worker Terra Cotta Pot, Thursday, July 18, 11:00 am. Create a fun Terra Cotta person in the career of your choice, various accessories can be added to make a nurse, teacher, grandma and many others. Silk Ribbon Embroidery, Friday, July 19, 11:00 am. Participants will make a silk ribbon pin. Cost: $10.00. Instructor artisan Betty Smith.

Card Making, Christmas in July, Monday, July 22, We will have a Christmas Potpourri–4 fun and easy Christmas cards. Cost is $12.00 Beginners from 10am to 12pm and Advanced crafters from 12pm to 2pm. 16 person maximum for each slot. Cards will be similar for each class. Please bring scissors and favorite adhesives. Bluebird Acrylic Painting, Tuesday, July 23, 11:00 am. Use vibrant colors and texture to create a cute blue bird in this step by step painting class. Cost: $12.00, paid at sign up. Instructor Sonia Garcia.

Decoupage Coasters, Wednesday, July 24, 10:00 am. Participants will have a variety of styles to choose from and create 4 decoupage coasters. Cost: $15.00, paid to Instructor artisan Esther Richards.

Basket Class, Wednesday & Thursday, July 24 and 25, 10:00 am. Participants will make a “Laced Tote”, “12x18x7”, (14” handle). The tote has a filled (solid) bottom and easy plain weave sides. The center band is laced to create X’s. There will be a choice of smoked or dyed reed. Day one will see most of the weaving completed. Day two to rim and lace. Class limit of 10. Supplies needed: a ruler, clothes pins, kitchen scissors or garden snips and a pencil. Cost: $35.00, paid to Instructor artisan Candy Alexander.

Felt Flamingo, Wednesday, July 31, 11:00 am. Participants will make a cute summery flamingo. Cost: $10.00, paid to Instructor artisan Betty Smith. Limited to 10.

Beginning Crochet, Fridays, August 9 – September 13, 11:00 – 12:00 pm. Participants will use basic stitches and learn how to make a scarf. Bring a size 5mm (US size H-8) Susan Bates hook. Cost: $20.00 paid to instructor. Limited to 4.

Intermediate Crochet, Fridays, August 9 – September 13, 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Cost is $20.00 paid to instructor.Class is limited to 4 participants. Participants will make a sampler afghan that uses squares of different designs. Required supplies, a size H hook and four 7 ounce skeins of #4 worsted weight yarn (bring a main color (3) and (1) contrasting color). Limited to 4.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available, if needed, for seated or standing support.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria.

Core Conditioning, 9:00 am. Mondays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria. This is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, focused on core strength. Most sculpting classes use weight bars, exercise bands, dumbbells, or a combination of these gadgets. You perform traditional weight-training movements in a class setting.

Low Impact Aerobics, Fridays, Cafeteria, 9:00 am – 10:00 am.

Stretch & Flex!, Fridays, 10:00 – 11:00 am. Cafeteria. Enjoy stretching, increasing your flexibility & balance, & mastering the use of breath for greater fitness & relaxation. Includes some gentle yoga with exercises done while standing or seated in a chair – no floor work required! Optional floor exercises may be offered towards the end of class but these can also be chair-based – your choice! Bring a yoga mat if you have one to use alongside the chairs provided.

Pickleball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball but slightly smaller. The lower net and whiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. This is Open Pickleball for all skill levels.

is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Silver Sneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Room 239 at 9:30 am. Total Body Workout consists of upper and lower body exercises that trim, tone, and define muscle while giving you a good cardio workout.

Tuesdays: 11:00 am – 11:30 am.

Thursdays: 9:30 am – 11:30 am. (due to kids camp through July 21)

Mat yoga – includes breath, abdominal, and arm strength building.

Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Includes standing poses and gentle movements for strength and flexibility. Each class ends with relaxation.
